New WePad touch input prototype tablet device

The WePad is mostly exciting due to being a deviation from the norm- iOS and Android. It offers some real innovation and posibilities like the side scrolling, live application widgets and a real neat, intuitive interface. It appears to be custom Linux. Like android there are widgets but all of them are live applications (like the maps for example) that you can interact with, without the need to open/load the app. There’s a window-view task manager and its presumably running at least a 1Ghz processor (Could be intels new atom or the Tegra 2) – Its very quickly and buttery smooth. Take a look at the video for more- its VERY impressive in some areas and has a few clever tricks. Next year could be a good year for those who held off on buying tablets- we’ll undoubtedly see an iPad 2, a myriad of Android tablets (hopefully Notion Ink’s Adam), Blackberry Tablets, WebOS Tablets from palm, Meego&Maemo from Nokia/Intel and Google’s Chrome OS. 2011 is shaping up nicely.
